APHIS Puts New Import Restrictions on Pork From Baltics
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service is adding parts of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to its list of regions subject to import restrictions on pork and pork products because they are affected by African Swine Fever (here). Going forward, APHIS will recognize as affected with ASF “any region of the [European Union] that the EU or any EU Member State has placed under restriction because of detection of ASF,” it said.
