APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Aug. 27

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Aug. 27 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Seeds Not for Planting: The Seeds Not for Planting Manual (here) has been updated, 08/2015-81, to change the treatment for okra seeds. The revision, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin, is on page 3-43.

Plants for Planting: The Plants for Planting Manual (here) has been updated, 08/2015-29. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin of each revised page, are as follows:

  • Page 3-1-1: Added to bulleted list; updated instructions
  • Page 3-1-2: Removed previous Table 3-1-1; revised information above new Table 3-1 (previously Table 3-2)
