APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Oct. 28

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Oct. 28 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

FAVIR and Fruits and Vegetables Manual: FAVIR (here) and the Fruits and Vegetables Manual (here) have been updated to add peppers to the list of approved commodities from Peru (Docket No. APHIS-2014-0028 published September 14, 2015 and effective October 14, 2015). At this time, import permits will not be issued. Until program requirements are finalized, the commodities will not be authorized entry into the United States. Changes in the manual are located on pages 3-250 and 3-251.
