APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Dec. 22

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Dec. 22 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Seeds Not for Planting: The Seeds Not for Planting Manual (here) has been updated, 12/2015-86. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin, are on the following pages:

  • Page 3-29: Added an advisory to see approved bags for treatment under "Penetration and Aeration of Bags and Boxes" in the Treatment Manual.
  • Glossary-2: Added a definition for consignment.

Pelargonium Facilities List: The list of Approved Pelargonium spp. Facilities authorized to export Pelargonium spp. cuttings to the United States (here) has been updated, 12/2015-19, to change the certification end date for Floricultura y Compania Limitada.
