APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Jan. 29
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Jan. 29 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Phytophthora Facilities List: The Approved Facilities for Hosts of Phytophthora ramorum list (here) has been updated, 01/2016-16, to add facility registry 21009 to the list. Host plants for planting (except seeds) listed in the Plants for Planting Manual from a country where Phytophthora ramorum is present may enter the United States only if sent from an approved facility on this list.
Japanese Beetle Program Manual: A new edition of the USDA APHIS PPQ Japanese Beetle Program Manual for Airports (here) has been published. There have been significant formatting changes throughout the entire manual. The Contents, List of Figures, List of Tables, and Index have also been updated.
Treatment Manual: The USDA APHIS PPQ Treatment Manual (here) has been updated. There were several reasons for the update:
- Chapter 2-12: Aerosols: Information throughout the entire chapter has been updated.
- T409: Moved application procedures and ordering information for 10% d-phenothrin and 2% d-phenothrin+2% permethrin to Chapter 2-12: Aerosols (pages 5-5-32 through 5-5-34)
