APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for March 17

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes March 17 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections:

Chapter 3-20 Trophies

  • Table 3-20-5 Trophy Hides or Skins of Ruminants from Mexico that are NOT Fully Taxidermy Finished - new content has been added to the table and footnote #5 has been revised

Canadian Border: The Canadian Border Agricultural Clearance Manual (here) has been revised to update the entry requirements for gypsy moth host material entering the U.S. from a Canadian area not infested with gypsy moth. Changes, indicated by black change bars in the left page margin, are on Page 3-55 of Chapter 3: Plant.
