APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for March 29

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes March 29 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections:

Chapter 3-8 Fomites

  • Page 3-8-1 under Introduction heading - footnote indicator #1 has been added to the "soil" bullet; NEW footnote #1 has been added
  • Table 3-8-4 Imported, USED Farm Machinery - language has been added to the end of footnote #1

Miscellaneous and Processed Products: The following changes have been made to the Miscellaneous and Processed Products Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections:

Chapter 3 Reference

  • Table 3-108 Guitar, rosewood, and other articles made from rosewood (Dalbergia nigra) - NEW footnote #3 has been added to the table
