APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for April 7
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes April 7 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Treatment Manual: The USDA APHIS PPQ Treatment Manual (here) has been revised for the following reasons:
- Revise the list of approved packaging materials for use in methyl bromide fumigation (page 2-3-6)
- Clarify language for running the fans to equalize gas concentrations during a methyl bromide tarpaulin fumigation (page 2-4-24)
- Add a table to clarify processes and responsibilities for approving tarpless container fumigation (page 2-8-1 and 2-8-2)
- Clarify language for the heat treatment of soil using T408-a (page 5-5-31)​
