APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for May 16-17
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes May 16-17 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Postentry Quarantine: The following change has been made to the Postentry Quarantine Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information:
Appendix A Directory of PPQ Postentry Quarantine Liaison Officers
- Table A-1 Directory of PEQ Liaison Officers - contact for Wisconsin has been revised
Appendix C Directory of SPROs and State PEQ Contacts
- Table C-1 Directory of SPROs and State PEQ Contacts - contact for Wisconsin has been revised
Animal Product Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections:
Chapter 2-3 Clearing Regulated Passenger Baggage
- Page 2-3-11 under Refuse Entry heading - NEW bullet and NEW Notice table have been added
Glossary
- Page Glossary-1-40 poultry definition - language has been revised
Fruits and Vegetables: The Fruits and Vegetables Manual (here) and the Fruits and Vegetables Import Requirements (FAVIR) database (here) have been updated to align with a finalized operational workplan and associated addenda for peppers from Peru. Import permits can now be issued. Changes in the manual are on page 3-253.
