Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said in a joint statement (here). Saudi Arabia will start by allowing beef imports from cattle less than 30 months old, expanding access to products from cattle under 48 months old after a phase-in period, they said. In the next few weeks, officials will announce an Agricultural Marketing Service program to certify U.S. beef to Saudi Arabia’s import requirements, Froman and Vilsack added. The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative didn’t comment.
