DEA To Open ACE Pilot for Controlled Substances and Chemicals
The Drug Enforcement Administration will test import and export data submission through the the agency's ACE partner government agency (PGA) message set and the Document Image System (DIS), it said in a notice (here). The pilot can begin as early as Aug. 1, DEA said. The agency will allow for electronic submission of data from eight forms required in importing or exporting:

- DEA Form 486 -- Import/Export Declaration for List I and List II Chemicals
- DEA Form 486A -- Import Declaration for Ephedrine, Pseudoephedrine, or Phenylpropanolamine.
The DEA will use DIS and the PGA Message Set to ensure compliance and "will electronically transmit reference data to CBP, expediting the conditional release of shipments for the purpose of inspection, prior to the final release," it said. The pilot also involves the Automated Export System, it said.
