APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Aug. 2

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Aug. 2 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables and flowers.

Plants for Planting: The Plants for Planting Manual (here) has been updated, 08/2016-47. Revisions, indicated by a black change bar in the left margin of each revised page, are as follows:

  • Page 2-9: Moved Table 2-2; added Oncidium spp. in Approved Growing Media to the bulleted list of approved growing media programs
  • Page 2-10: Added a new section with information about Oncidium spp. in Approved Growing Media
