APHIS Updates PPQ Manuals for Aug. 24
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service announced changes Aug. 24 to Plant Protection and Quarantine (PPQ) electronic manuals. While some changes are minor, other changes may affect the admissibility of the plant products, including fruits, vegetables and flowers.

Animal Product Manual: The following changes have been made to the Animal Product Manual (here) to reflect up-to-date information and corrections:
Appendix C List of Foreign Countries and Their Disease Status:
- Table C-1-1 Foreign Countries and Their Disease Status. Updated 14 regions/countries to negligible risk for BSE.
Treatment Manual: The USDA APHIS PPQ Treatment Manual (here) has been revised for the following reasons:
- Clarify language in chapters 2-8 and 2-9 regarding the responsible party for structural changes to containers
- Update cold treatment applications for warehouses, containers, and vessels
- Update the Glossary
