  • Canada signs new MOU with USDA-APHIS for Greenhouse Grown Plant Certification Program. The CFIA has announced that the finalization of the United States – Canada Greenhouse-Grown Plant Certification Program (GCP) which is a bilateral export certification program for greenhouse-grown plants shipped between Canada and the continental United States. The new program will facilitate the movement of greenhouse-grown plants between Canada and the United States. It allows authorized facilities to ship plants using a GCP sticker in place of a phytosanitary certificate. (here)
  • Government of Canada to ban asbestos. The Government of Canada has announced it is creating new regulations that ban the manufacture, use, import and export of asbestos under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999. (here)
  • Canada and European Union co-hosting meeting to promote dispute-resolutions for international trade. The Governments of Canada along with the European Union are co-hosting a meeting in Geneva, Switzerland to work on the development of new international standards for resolving investment disputes.   • Statement of reasons issued for certain pup joints. The CBSA has issued a statement of reasons which will likely result in the continuation of dumping and subsidizing of certain pup joints originating in or exported from China. (here)
  • Product Recalls. Trek Bicycle Corporation recalls Bontrager and Ion Accessory Lights manufactured in China (here)
