FDA Allows Use of Sodium Formate in Poultry Feeds

The Food and Drug Administration is amending its regulations on food additives permitted for use in animal feeds and water to allow for the use of feed grade sodium formate as a feed acidifying agent in complete poultry feeds, it said in a final rule that takes effect Dec. 27 (here). FDA recently allowed use of the additive in swine feeds (see 1609290024).
