  • Canada invests in new DNA-based projects to boost fruit plant trade. Minister of Agriculture Lawrence MacAulay announced that the Canadian Food Inspection Agency will lead two projects worth $500,000 that use new DNA-based technologies to reduce the quarantine testing time from three years to about a year, helping to boost trade and economic competitiveness in the $240 million Canadian fruit tree industry.
  • Product Recalls: BRIO AB recalls BRIO Soft Hammer Rattle manufactured in China, for choking hazard; Beautycounter recalls Volume and Shape Shampoo manufactured in the United States, for contamination with pathogens.
