- CFIA rolls out new food export webpage. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is revising its food export webpages to better assist the Canadian industry with export guidance. The primary aim of the agency is to align all export activities of their food programs under a single food program.
- Trade mission to China. Minister of Agriculture Lawrence MacAulay on Nov. 21 completed a successful 10-day visit to China intended to raise the profile of Canadian agricultural products to its second-highest value agri-food export market. The trip takes Canada one step closer to its goal of growing global agri-food exports to $75 billion by 2025 by providing Canadians and processors new opportunities to grow their businesses.
- Product Recalls: IKEA Canada recalls IKEA chests of drawers manufactured in Poland, Brazil, Czech Republic, Denmark, Indonesia, Italy, Portugal, Slovakia, Sweden, Thailand, Lithuania and Germany, for tip-over and entrapment hazards; Playwell Enterprises Ltd. recalls PlanToys Baby Gyms manufactured in Thailand, for strangulation hazard.
