  • Canada adds Ukraine to AFCCL. The Canadian Government has announced it will add Ukraine to Automatic Firearms Country Control List (AFCCL). This will enable will Canadian companies and individuals to apply for a permit to export certain prohibited firearms, weapons and devices to Ukraine. Each permit application will be assessed on a case-by-case basis to ensure its consistency with Canada’s international obligations and foreign policy and defense priorities.
  • Canada takes leadership role at 11th WTO Ministerial Conference in Argentina. Minister of International Trade François-Philippe Champagne was in Buenos Aires Dec. 10-13 to discuss and participate in advancing Canada’s trade initiatives, which aim to make trade work for people and protect the interests of Canadians and citizens worldwide.
  • Product Recalls: West Elm recalls Industrial Task table lamps manufactured in China, for electric shock and fire hazard; Pier 1 Imports recalls Decorative Glass Pumpkins manufactured in India for laceration hazard; Crate and Barrel Canada Inc. recalls Dakota 71 inches and 51 inches wooden benches manufactured in Poland, for tipover and injury hazard; Hunter Fan Company recalls owner’s manual for Contempo ceiling fan manufactured in China, for injury hazard if improperly installed; Todd Snyder recalls Men’s Reverse Sweatshirts manufactured in Canada, for burn hazard.
