The government of Canada recently issued the following trade-related notices as of Feb.21 (some may also be given separate headlines):

  • CPTPP full text released. Minister of International Trade François-Philippe Champagne announced that the full text of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership has been published, along with the projected economic impact it will have on the Canadian economy. The Feb. 20 announcement said that ministers of all 11 member countries will officially sign the CPTPP on March 8 in Santiago, Chile.
  • NAFTA textile/apparel TPL utilization. The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade updated the 2018 NAFTA textile and apparel tariff preference level utilization rate for imports and exports.
  • Product Recalls: TR Industries recalls Seapower Marine branded products manufactured in the United States, for insufficient labeling of chemical products; Whirlpool Corporation recalls KitchenAid Electric Kettles manufactured in China, for burn hazard.
