- Extension of re-investigation for certain gypsum board. The Canada Border Services Agency on April 27 extended the re-investigation to update the normal values and export prices with respect to certain gypsum board originating in or exported from the U.S., imported into Canada for use or consumption in the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, as well as the Yukon and Northwest Territories. Its announcement said it "extended the conclusion of the re-investigation 19 days due to the complexity and novelty of the issues presented by the re-investigation." It will now be concluded by July 18, 2018.
- Foreign direct investment for 2017. Statistics Canada reports that the stock of Canadian direct investment abroad rose 3.4% to $1,121.1 billion, while foreign direct investment in Canada increased 1.9% to $824 billion in 2017.
- Product Recalls: Octane Fitness LLC, recalls Octane Fitness XT-One elliptical cross trainer manufactured in Taiwan, for fall hazard.
