  • Countermeasures against U.S. for duties on steel and aluminum. Canada, in response to U.S. tariffs on imports of certain steel and aluminum products from Canada, announced it intends to impose surtaxes or similar trade-restrictive countermeasures against up to C$16.6 billion in imports of steel, aluminum and other products from the U.S., representing the value of 2017 Canadian exports affected by the U.S. measures.
  • Product Recalls: Chateau Manis Electroniques Inc. recalls Chateau brand gas lighters manufactured in China, for fire and burn hazards; Specialized Bicycle Components Canada, Inc. recalls 2018 model bicycles with Stout crankarms manufactured in Taiwan, for fall and injury hazards; Medline Canada, Corp. recalls various Medline Remedy cosmetic products manufactured in the United States, for bacterial contamination.
