Canadian Government Notices as of June 25
The government of Canada recently issued the following trade-related notices as of June 25 (some may also be given separate headlines):

- Notice of initiation of investigations into certain 54-inch gypsum board. The Canada Border Services Agency initiated an investigation on June 21, 2018, under the Special Import Measures Act, with respect to the alleged dumping of certain 54-inch gypsum board from the U.S. imported into Canada for use or consumption in the provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba, as well as the Yukon and Northwest Territories. The complainant alleges that the dumped goods have caused "material retardation of the establishment of the domestic industry in Western Canada."
- Imported vehicles fees subject to increase. The Canada Border Services Agency has issued Customs Notice 18-06, which advises importers that vehicles required to be registered with the Registrar of Imported Vehicles (RIV) using From 1 or Form 3 will be subject to increases in the fee they are required to pay. Vehicles entering the RIV Program using e-Form 1 fees will now pay $310 instead of $295, plus a Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Quebec Sales tax (QST) when entering through the Port of Quebec, or GST and a Provincial Sales Tax (PST) or Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) when entering through any other port. Those importers using e-Form 3 will now pay $95 instead of $90, plus plus GST and QST or plus GST/PST or HST.
- NAFTA textile/apparel TPL utilization. The Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade updated the 2018 NAFTA textile and apparel tariff preference level utilization rate for imports and exports.
- Product Recalls: Bumbleride Inc. recalls Bumbleride Speed 3-wheel jogging stroller manufactured in Taiwan, for laceration hazard; Mine Safety Appliances Company LLC recalls MSA Nuevo Wrap Safety Glasses manufactured in China, for eye injury hazard.
