  • Surtaxes Imposed on Certain Products Originating in the United States. This notice provides information on the introduction and application of the United States Surtax Order (Steel and Aluminum) and the United States Surtax Order (Other Goods), effective July 1, 2018, regarding surtax provisions on certain products originating in the United States.
  • Requirements and procedures for tobacco products. The Canada Border Services Agency on June 27 issued changes to the paragraph describing a "unit" for the purposes of Memorandum D18-2-1, which describes the packaging, stamping and labeling requirements and procedures for weighing imported tobacco products when determining customs duties. It also outlines the procedures to be followed for the return of Canadian manufactured tobacco products.
  • Product Recalls: Canadian Tire Corporation Limited recalls Master Chef BBQ Igniter lighters manufactured in China, for fire and burn hazards; ITW Canada recalls Red Head Trubolt+ wedge anchors manufactured in China and the U.S., for injury hazard.
