The government of Canada recently issued the following trade-related notices as of Oct. 26 (some may also be given separate headlines):

  • CITT initiates final injury inquiry into corrosion resistant steel sheet. The Canadian International Trade Tribunal on Oct. 25 initiated an inquiry to determine whether the dumping of corrosion-resistant steel sheet originating in or exported from China, Taiwan, India and South Korea has caused injury or is threatening to cause injury to the domestic industry. This final injury inquiry was initiated following notice from the Canada Border Services Agency that it made a preliminary determination of dumping of the above-mentioned goods. CITT will make its determination Feb. 21, 2019.
  • CFIA suspends fish import license of Ontario Inc. (AJ International Trading Inc). The Canadian Food Inspection Agency suspended the fish import license of 2372761 Ontario Inc. (AJ International Trading Inc.), located in Scarborough, Ontario, effective Oct. 22, because the company failed to notify the CFIA of imported shipments of fish products either prior to importation or within 48 hours following the importation.
  • Product Recalls: i play, Inc.recalls flower rattle made of wood manufactured in Taiwan, for choking hazard; CB2 recalls Colby lacquered wood and glass ceiling pendant lights manufactured in India, for fire and shock hazards; BLL Enterprises Inc. recalls Fluid Film Rust & Corrosion Protection aerosol containers manufactured in the U.S., for improper hazard labeling; U-Pol Inc. recalls Automotive Repair and Refinish products manufactured in the United Kingdom, for warning labels not meeting requirements; Cub Cadet LLC recalls Cub Cadet RZT SX EFI Zero-Turn riding mowers manufactured in the U.S., for fire hazard.
