  • International merchandise trade results for October 2018. Statistics Canada reported Dec. 6 that Canada's exports were down 1.2% in October, principally on lower exports of crude oil. Imports were down 0.6%, attributed largely to fewer imports of passenger cars and light trucks. As a result, Canada's merchandise trade deficit with the world widened from $891 million in September to $1.2 billion in October.
  • Product Recalls: Princess Auto recalls Powerfist Drywall Hoist manufactured in China, for impact injury hazard; Formula Brands Inc. recalls Betty Crocker Single Serve Pod Coffee Maker manufactured in China, for burn hazard; Skip Hop expands recall on Tuo convertible high chairs manufactured in China, for fall and injury hazards.
