Trade Delegation Headed to China for Talks Next Week

Ambassadors from the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, along with officials from the Agriculture, Energy, Commerce and Treasury departments, will conduct trade negotiations in China starting Jan. 7.

The delegation is to include:

  • Jeffrey Gerrish, deputy U.S. trade representative
  • Gregg Doud, USTR chief agricultural negotiator
  • David Malpass, Treasury under secretary for international affairs
  • Ted McKinney, Agriculture under secretary for trade and foreign agricultural affairs
  • Gilbert B. Kaplan, Commerce under secretary for international trade
  • Steven Winberg, Energy assistant secretary for fossil energy

The Jan. 4 announcement also said unnamed senior officials from the White House and the State Department will join the group, as will senior officials from the same departments sending the deputy secretaries.
