EPA to Hold Workshop on Exemptions From Composite Wood Formaldehyde Standards
The Environmental Protection Agency will host an online workshop Sept. 8 to gather input on a potential framework for requesting certain exemptions from the agency’s formaldehyde emissions standards for composite wood products, it said in a notice. “EPA is hosting the workshop to help inform potential development of future guidance to assist those seeking to petition the Agency through the provisions at 40 CFR 770.4(b), which ask EPA to initiate a rulemaking for additional exemptions for laminated products from the definition of hardwood plywood in the formaldehyde emission standards for composite wood products final rule,” EPA said. Requests to participate are due Aug. 31, and written comments can be submitted until Nov. 4.
