In that fall of 1945, WCN founder Al Warren was a 25-year-old freshly discharged from the U.S. Navy, eager to test out a journalism degree from his beloved Ohio State University. He soon took a job with a unique startup weekly covering a television industry that was so new that the first issue’s lead story was about radio.
