CBP Seeks Comment on Drawback Info Collection
CBP is seeking comments by Dec. 29 on an existing information collection request on drawback forms, it said in a notice Oct. 30. CBP proposes to extend the expiration date of this information collection with no change to the burden hours or to the information collected.

Form 7553
CBP Form 7553, Notice of Intent to Export, Destroy or Return Merchandise for Purposes of Drawback (NOI), documents both the exportation and destruction of merchandise eligible for drawback. The NOI is the official notification to CBP that an exportation or destruction will occur for drawback eligible merchandise. The CBP Form 7553 has been updated to comply with Trade Facilitation and Enforcement Act Drawback requirements.

Comments Requested on Ways to Minimize Burden, Etc.
CBP is asking for comments from the public and other federal agencies on (a) whether the collection of information is necessary for the proper performance of the functions of the agency, including whether the information shall have practical utility; (b) the accuracy of the agency’s estimates of the burden of the collection of information; (c) ways to enhance the quality, utility and clarity of the information to be collected; and (d) ways to minimize the burden, including the use of automated collection techniques or the use of other forms of information technology.
