Third Countries Align With EU Sanctions Moves on Russia, Iran and Myanmar
The European Council announced in three separate notices April 28 that a group of non-EU European countries aligned with the union's recent sanctions moves on Russia over its invasion of Ukraine; on Iran; and on Myanmar.

North Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Ukraine aligned with the European Council's April 21 addition of two individuals to its Russia sanctions list, the EC said.
In February, the council added 22 individuals and four entities to its Myanmar sanctions list. The countries of North Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Ukraine, Moldova and Armenia aligned with that move, the EC said.
The EC April 11 renewed the Iran sanctions regime for another 12 months until April 2023 and amended the list of individuals and entities subject to the restrictions. Accordingly, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Ukraine did the same, the EC said.
