USTR OKs Liquidating Entries From VU After Labor Complaint Settled
The only outstanding USMCA rapid response labor complaint, against Manufacturas VU, a Michigan-headquartered supplier of interior automotive trims, has been settled, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative announced.

Workers at the factory in Piedras Negras complained that they were being denied the right to join a union and collectively bargain, but since the July 21 complaint, La Liga Sindical Obrera Mexicana was elected by the workers to represent them, and negotiations for a contract are expected.
This was the fifth rapid response complaint that was settled with Mexico; none have resulted in fines or a loss of tariff benefits for the Mexican exporters.
"As a result of the above actions taken to resolve the action, the United States agrees that there is no ongoing denial of rights related to the request for review that the United States sent to Mexico," the USTR release said, and so liquidation of entries from VU is once again authorized.
