USTR Allocates FY24 TRQ Amounts, Additional FY23 Amounts for Raw Cane Sugar
The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative is setting FY 2024 country allocations for imports under tariff-rate quotas for cane sugar and refined sugars. The FY 2024 import TRQ for raw cane sugar was established at 1,117,195 metric tons raw value (MTRV), the minimum amount to which the U.S. is committed under the World Trade Organization (WTO) Uruguay Round Agreements (see 2307050038). The USTR now allocates this TRQ among supplying countries and customs areas, as follows:

For imports of refined sugar, USTR is allocating 10,300 metric tons to Canada, 2,954 metric tons to Mexico, and 7,090 metric tons to be administered on a first-come, first-served basis. For imports of sugar-containing products, USTR is allocating 59,250 metric tons to Canada, and 5,459 to other countries on a first-come, first-served basis.
USTR also announced country-by-country allocations of additional fiscal year 2023 in-quota quantities of the tariff-rate quotas for imported raw cane sugar. Of the 125,000 metric tons raw value added to the raw cane sugar TRQ by USDA on July 10 (see 2307110060), USTR is allocating the quota as follows:
