Liquidation Resumes for Asiaway After Labor Complaint Resolved
The U.S. will tell CBP to resume liquidation of aluminum parts coming from Asiaway Automotive Components Mexico, a Chinese-headquartered firm that does die casting and machining of aluminum parts in San Luis Potosí. According to Asiaway's website, the factory just opened in June 2023.

The U.S. had asked Mexico in October to review whether Asiaway fired a worker who wanted La Liga Sindical Obrera Mexicana to represent the workforce (see 2310240018).
According to the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, that worker was reinstated with back pay, and Asiaway posted a neutrality statement on which union should represent workers. The company also explained that position individually to each worker, and trained its managers to honor the freedom of association.
