Bipartisan Letter Urges ITC to Protect Domestic Ferrosilicon

Rep. Carol Miller, R-W.Va., led a bipartisan letter asking the International Trade Commission to consider an antidumping and countervailing duty case brought by Ferroglobe and CC Metals and Alloys.

"We write in support of the U.S. ferrosilicon industry and the hundreds of workers in our districts impacted by the unfair foreign trade of ferrosilicon metals," the five members Congress wrote. Miller publicized the letter Sept. 30. "Dumped and subsidized imports from Russia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, and Brazil have already harmed workers in several states."

They argued that a robust domestic ferrosilicon industry is needed to defend national security.
