UK Updates 2 Russia Sanctions Licenses

The U.K. on July 23 amended a pair of Russia sanctions licenses pursuant to the U.K. Global Irregular Migration and Trafficking in Persons Sanctions Regulation 2025.

One license authorizes certain transactions involving basic necessities" to sanctioned parties up to around $474 a month. Those transactions can involve payment for food and beverages, medicines and personal and household products.

The other license authorizes certain activities by U.K. law enforcement and regulatory authorities that relate to investigations of sanctioned assets or crime-related proceeds. Authorities are authorized "to carry out their duties including through making use of powers available to them under UK legislation or common law for Asset Recovery Purposes," the license says.
