Trump Mulls Normal Trade Relationship With Russia If Talks Go Well
President Donald Trump said that he is open to the possibility of normalizing trade relations with Russia if his upcoming meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin goes well.

Trump was asked during an Aug. 11 press briefing whether he could "see a time" there could be normal trade between the U.S. and Russia, depending on whether the Aug. 15 meeting between Trump and Putin results in peace between Russia and Ukraine. "I do," Trump said.
The president has recently promised to use trade measures to coerce Russia into ending its war in Ukraine (see 2507280045).
