Federated Wireless Talks CBRS With Trusty
Federated Wireless Chief Technology Officer Kurt Schaubach touted the importance of the citizens broadband radio service (CBRS) band in a meeting with FCC Commissioner Olivia Trusty, according to a filing Monday in docket 17-258. Federated officials called for “critical” changes to rules for the band to further spur deployment.

With more than 420,000 CBRS devices deployed and “zero reports of interference to incumbent users, CBRS has far exceeded the goals set for the Innovation Band a decade plus ago,” Federated said. The CBRS framework has “become the benchmark for regulators worldwide that are seeking to replicate the innovative licensing framework, increase spectrum efficiency, and enable more diverse access to critical frequencies for a wide range of both public and private use cases.”
