CIT Judges Take Varying Approaches to Staying Cases During Shutdown
Court of International Trade judges Mark Barnett, Joseph Laroski, Lisa Wang, Jennifer Choe-Groves, M. Miller Baker, Claire Kelly, Timothy Reif and Richard Eaton stayed various cases before them after the government asked for a stay in light of the federal government shutdown.

Judge Jane Restani was the lone judge to deny the stay motions. She said if a "deadline looms before resolution of the budget standoff the government should seek specific relief."
Judges Barnett, Eaton and Wang said the government should file a status report no later than 10 days after the end of the shutdown with new deadlines. Judges Laroski and Kelly ordered a similar status report be filed within seven days of the end of the shutdown, while Judges Baker and Reif gave the government 14 days to file the status report.
Meanwhile, Choe-Groves extended the government's deadlines "commensurate with the duration of the lapse in appropriations."
