Bessent: Korea Agreement Almost Done, Canada Back on Track

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said during a Q&A Oct. 15 that U.S. negotiators "are about to finish up with Korea."

When the CNBC interviewer noted that there was some question about South Korea's $350 billion investment promise, Bessent said, "The devil's in the details, but we are ironing out the details."

He noted that Indian officials and Mexican officials have "been engaged," but offered no projection on where those trade relationships might end up.

He also said "the President had a very good meeting with [Canadian] Prime Minister [Mark] Carney recently. So I think U.S.-Canada's back on track."
