Lawmaker to Keep Close Eye on Return of UN Sanctions on Iran
Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-N.Y., said Oct. 30 that she intends to work with the Trump administration, including the State and Treasury departments, to ensure that the U.N. fully carries out plans to reimpose "snapback” sanctions on Iran.

“They said they're going to implement the sanctions. Let’s make sure that they follow through with it,” Tenney told Export Compliance Daily.
While the U.N. decided in September to reimpose the sanctions over Iran's nuclear weapons program (see 2509290051), U.S. lawmakers have said it will be necessary to ensure that all U.N. member states and private actors abide by their renewed obligations (see 2509170044). Tenney introduced a resolution in February calling for the initiation of snapback sanctions (see 2504030016).
