Senate Republicans Praise Trump for Restricting Chip Exports to China
Eight Republican senators told President Donald Trump on Nov. 6 that they applaud his decision to withhold the most advanced U.S. computing chips from China, including Nvidia’s Blackwell (see 2511030031).

In a letter to the president, the lawmakers said his move will help ensure the U.S. wins "the AI race.” The letter was led by Sens. Pete Ricketts of Nebraska and Tom Cotton of Arkansas and co-signed by Sens. Roger Marshall of Kansas, Jim Banks of Indiana, John Cornyn of Texas, Bill Hagerty of Tennessee, Kevin Cramer of North Dakota and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said in late October that while he would like to ship the Blackwell to China, the decision on whether that can happen rests with Trump.
