CBP Seeks to Rehire Retired Officers and Agents

CBP recently announced that it is "launching new reemployment initiatives" for retired Border Patrol agents and CBP officers, according to a news release. These initiatives would make it easier for retired personnel to rejoin under special term appointments.

The full-time appointments could last between one and four years, and they would utilize a dual compensation waiver, in which eligible retirees could receive their full annuity plus full salary, meaning that there would be no reductions or offsets, CBP said.
