EPA Extends Comment Period on Phase-Down of HFCs
The EPA is extending the comment period to Nov. 21 for those wanting to provide feedback on the agency's proposed rule reconsidering some of the regulatory requirements related to the phase-down of hydrocarbons, according to a Federal Register notice.

The EPA had published the proposed rule in the Federal Register in October (see 2510020013). The proposed rule would allow previously manufactured and imported residential and light commercial air conditioning and heat pump equipment to continue to be installed. The EPA was also seeking advance comment on potential actions to address supply chain issues for a refrigerant blend.
The agency extended the comment period by four days in response to a stakeholder seeking a 30-day extension.
