BIS Extends Comment Periods for Information Collections Involving Import Delivery Verifications
The Bureau of Industry and Security is extending public comment periods for two information collections related to its delivery verification procedures for imports, it said in notices released Nov. 20. The agency previously requested feedback on the collections in July and is now allowing an additional 30 days for comments (see 2507250001).

Some foreign governments require U.S. importers of certain “strategic commodities” to provide the foreign supplier with a U.S. Delivery Verification Certificate, which validates that the items were received, BIS said. “This procedure increases the effectiveness of controls on the international trade of strategic commodities.” It also verifies to the foreign exporter and the U.S. government that the U.S. importer "will not reexport such commodities, except in accordance with the export control regulations of the United States."
