CBP Reminds Trade on How to Protect User Data in the ACE Portal

A Nov. 26 Cargo Systems Messaging Service message reminded the trade that they are able to protect user data in the ACE portal.

Trade account owners are able to restrict access to their employee data by managing permissions through “Read Only” access in the ACE Secure Data Portal, CBP said. The agency said users may get additional details and resources about these features in the ACE Portal by reviewing the ACE Portal Reference Sheet available on CBP's website.

In drafting this CSMS message, CBP referenced a related CSMS message from Jan. 10, 2023, informing customs brokers that they must submit new employee and terminated employee information within 30 days of employment and termination, respectively, to the ACE Portal.
