ITC Launches Section 337 Investigation on Vapes

The International Trade Commission began a Section 337 investigation on allegations that U.S. company Glas, Inc. is importing and selling vaporizer devices that infringe patents held by Juul Labs (ITC Inv. No. 337-TA-1464), it said in a notice to be published Dec. 19.

The complaint was filed in November and seeks a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders against the respondents to bar from entry "certain vaporizer devices, cartridges used therewith, and components thereof" that violate the complainants' patents (see 2511170037).

Juul said in the complaint that this is the company's sixth Section 337 complaint in the past seven years "to stop the unlawful importation of vaporizer devices and components thereof."
