ITC Begins Section 337 Investigation on Vaping Devices

The International Trade Commission began a Section 337 investigation on allegations that Juul Labs, Inc. is importing and selling vaporizer devices that infringe patents held by NJOY, Altria and their subsidiaries (ITC Inv. No. 337-TA-1469), it said in a notice published Dec. 23.

The complaint was filed in September and seeks a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders against the respondents to bar from entry "certain vaporizer devices, cartridges used therewith, and components thereof" that violate the complainants' patents (see 2509240040).

Juul filed a similar complaint in August (see 2509100017).
