The discount, announced as part of a final rule issued last year (see 2412060068), allows certain Tier 1 DDTC registrants to petition the agency for $500 off their registration fee. The registrants must provide proof that the original $3,000 fee was 1% or more of their total revenue for the last calendar year.

The discount was offered as a one-year pilot, but DDTC said it's continuing it beyond Jan. 9, when it was scheduled to expire. "Tier 1 registrants renewing or initiating registration on or after January 9, 2026, may continue to request the discount in accordance with those instructions" on the DDTC website, the agency said. "The Department will be publishing a Federal Register document providing additional direction regarding the discount."
