The Commerce Department is amending final results of the countervailing duty administrative review on narrow woven ribbons with woven selvedge from China (C-570-953) originally published July 28, 2021, to align with the final decision in a court case that challenged a rate in those results.
The Commerce Department is issuing antidumping and countervailing duty orders on pea protein from China (A-570-154/C-570-155). The orders, published Aug. 26, set permanent antidumping and countervailing duties, which will remain in place unless revoked by Commerce in a sunset or changed circumstances review. Commerce will now begin conducting annual administrative reviews, if requested, to determine final assessments of AD/CVD on importers and make changes to cash deposit rates.
Imports of unthreaded pins of alloy steel rod from China subsequently processed into steel threaded rod in the U.S. are circumventing antidumping and countervailing duty orders on steel threaded rod from China (A-570-104/C-570-105), and will remain subject to retroactive suspension of liquidation and antidumping and countervailing duty cash deposit requirements, Commerce said in the final determination of its anti-circumvention inquiry, released Aug. 26.

The International Trade Commission will consider whether to issue a general exclusion order banning all imports of wireless front-end modules from Kangxi Communication Technologies, as well as routers that contain them, that allegedly infringe on patents held by Skyworks, the ITC said in a notice Aug. 22. In a Section 337 complaint (ITC Inv. No. 337-TA-1413) filed in July (see 2407230023), Skyworks said KCT and its affiliate Grand Chip Labs are making unauthorized and unlicensed copies of its patented wireless front-end modules, including the KCT FEMs under the names KCT8539S and KCT8547HE, which are then being incorporated into downstream routers from D-Link Systems and Ruijie Networks. The ITC also will consider cease and desist orders against KCT, D-Link and Ruijie.
The International Trade Commission seeks comments by Aug. 30 on a Section 337 complaint filed by Advanced Bionics seeking a ban on imports of cochlear implant systems from MED-EL that allegedly infringe on its patents, the ITC said in an Aug. 22 notice. According to the complaint, filed Aug. 16, MED-EL is importing Austrian-made devices that incorporate infringing sound processors, including the Sonnet 2 and Rondo 3. Advanced Bionics seeks a limited exclusion order and cease and desist orders banning import and sale of infringing devices from MED-EL.
