Comments on the scope of ongoing antidumping and countervailing duty investigations on aluminum extrusions from China, Colombia, Ecuador, India, Indonesia, Italy, South Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates and Vietnam are now due June 5, said the Commerce Department in a notice released May 22 amending the scope of its CVD investigations to align it with changes adopted in its AD preliminary determinations (see 2405070079), and also extending the comment deadline. Rebuttal comments will then be due June 12.
The Commerce Department issued notices in the Federal Register on its recently initiated antidumping and countervailing duty investigations on high chrome cast iron grinding media from India (A-533-930/C-533-931). The AD investigation covers entries April 1, 2023, through March 31, 2024, and the CVD investigation covers entries Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2023.

The Commerce Department has published the preliminary results of its antidumping duty administrative review on large diameter welded pipe from Canada (A-122-863). Rates calculated in this review will be used to set assessment rates for importers of subject merchandise from one producer and exporter and its affiliates that was entered May 1, 2022, through April 30, 2023.

The International Trade Commission will consider whether to issue a general exclusion order banning all imports of firearm disassembly tongs that allegedly infringe patents held by Gtul, the ITC said in a notice May 20 announcing the beginning of a new Section 337 investigation (ITC Inv. No. 337-TA-1401). In a complaint filed in February (see 2402210039), Gtul said U.S.-based companies are importing devices that engage the slide lock on firearms that copy patented technologies used in Gtul’s Stul devices. The ITC will also consider cease and desist orders against the following respondents to its investigation:

The Commerce Department is recognizing the name change of an Indian company for the purposes of an antidumping duty order on polyethylene terephthalate film, sheet, and strip (PET film) from India (A-533-824), it said in a notice of the final results of a changed circumstances review. The agency confirmed its preliminary finding that Garware Hi-Tech Films Limited is the successor-in-interest to Garware Polyester Limited, saying that Garware Hi-Tech operates as materially the same business entity as Garware Polyester with respect to the production and sale of subject merchandise. Commerce said that effective May 21, Garware Hi-Tech now inherits the AD rate assigned to Garware Polyester Limited, which is currently 4.45%.
